To promote the return of and drive tune-in to HBO’s hit, Boardwalk Empire, we created Play the Boardwalk, a dynamic microsite featuring “Crack the Competition,” an interactive, modern-day twist on a classic 1920’s Atlantic City boardwalk game. Here, Verizon subscribers could throw virtual baseballs at bootlegged bottles to try to shorten the supply of their rival underground distillery.

In addition, players could also test their Boardwalk Empire know-how with a trivia quiz only Knucky’s guys and gals could ace. Participants were driven to the site from promotional web banners, organic Facebook posts and a presence on the Verizon FiOS Facebook tab.
